A new player arrives in the Lithuanian retail sector. VZ.lt announces that the German merchant has ambitious plans: it expects to open at least 15 stores per year. It will be recalled that the ALDI chain of stores specializes in the same segment as LIDL: their stores offer a smaller range of products and therefore can often offer such products at lower prices.

According to sources, unlike its competitor Lidl, Aldi has planned a rapid and aggressive development in Lithuania.

A source noted that any information related to the plans of the retail chain in Lithuania is completely confidential. According to sources, Aldi may enter Lithuania independently or to acquire an existing commercial market player.

There is no doubt about the development of ALDI, as the Lithuanian real estate market is currently being explored by a very large foreign capital entity. VZ.lt sources unofficially confirmed that this business entity is related to the German trading giant ALDI.

Aldi Group – a network of German and international retail holding companies, German and international groups and a group of companies. The Aldi Group is made up of Aldi Nord and ALDI SÜD. Aldi was founded in 1913. as a subsidiary in Essen. The store is named after Karl Albrecht Lebenzmitel.
