Sodra faces situations where it cannot grant social assistance benefits due to the inability to obtain information from foreign institutions about pensions or pension benefits granted to a particular person in those countries. This is generally due to circumstances beyond the control of the individual, such as the difficult political situation in certain foreign countries or the lack of diplomatic relations with the state.
From now on, an institution that pays social assistance benefits, having determined that it is not possible to obtain the necessary information from foreign institutions even through diplomatic channels, will make the decision to grant or renew (extend) the assistance benefits. within 10 business days without requiring data on foreign pensions and pension benefits.
Social assistance old-age and disability pensions may be granted to persons who are not entitled to higher or equal social security pensions, state pensions and benefits, pension accumulation benefits, foreign pensions and other periodic pension benefits. People from foreign countries had to present documents proving that they do not receive old-age or disability benefits in their country of origin or that the amounts of benefits received are less than the amounts of social assistance pensions.
The amendments to the law will take effect on August 1 of this year.
Social assistance benefits are paid from the state budget. Social assistance pension base – 143 euros.
