The Kaunas City Polyclinic responds quickly to a threatening situation. The strict procedure will take effect tomorrow.

“We would like to inform you that after a large outbreak (diagnosed over 10 people) of imported COVID-19 infection in Kaunas has been identified, taking into account the fact that not all contacts and visits of people infected with COVID -19 have been identified to ensure maximum protection for patients and staff, as of July 15. We are restricting the admission of patients to the polyclinic by admitting only pre-registered patients, “Kaunas City Polyclinic representatives announced on Facebook.

It is recalled that patients will be admitted to the polyclinic no more than 10 minutes in advance. Until the scheduled time of the visit, when the patient’s registration data will be verified at the entrance, body temperature will be measured and there will be no signs of COVID-19 infection.

In order to guarantee maximum protection for patients and staff, as of July 15. we tightened patient admission to the outpatient clinic by admitting only pre-registered patients.

Nasal and mouth masks, respirators, or other facial protection should be worn upon arrival. A safe distance of two meters should be maintained while waiting in or inside the clinic.

Paulius Kibiša, head of the Kaunas City Polyclinic, told kauno.diena.lt portal that it is first necessary to take care of the health and safety of all Kaunas residents. Both staff and patients: “We are strengthening access control to the outpatient clinic, reminding patients that if they experience symptoms or have contact with a potentially ill person, it is necessary to isolate themselves.”

“We are not trying COVID-19. If patients suspected of having the virus arrive, we direct them to a completely separate stream, to our Fever Clinic, which operates in the Šančiai unit. “A person continues to be treated according to established algorithms,” said P. Kibiša.
