In addition, another 121 people who had previously been infected by the coronavirus died in the country every day, the Ministry of Health reported.

By comparison, around 11,483 new COVID-19 cases and 283 victims were reported on Sunday, and as of Saturday morning there were 15,178 new cases and 599 deaths daily.

To date, the largest increase in morbidity in Poland was recorded on November 7, when 27,875 cases of coronavirus infection were detected per day.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 990,811 cases have been confirmed in the country and 17,150 people have died.

The Health Ministry said Monday morning that 21,504 COVID-19 patients are currently being treated in hospitals across the country, of which 2,118 require artificial lung ventilation.

To date, 577,514 people have recovered from a coronavirus infection in Poland, including 18,085 in the last day, the ministry added.
