And how serious those intentions are, you know, it seems to me that the respected Ramūnas has already retired several times, but, as has shown practice, it still stayed in those places. It’s hard to say if it’s just an emotion or serious intentions, “says I. Šimonytė.

Šimonytė: no need to draw red lines

When asked how he evaluated the situation in the Seimas, the interlocutor assured that it was possible to find common ground, but unfortunately this could not be achieved.

“There was no idea that the Peasants and Greens faction could in any way run for the post of Vice President of the Seimas, far from it.

The problem was that the Vice President of the Seimas still had to vote in a secret ballot, so the candidacy that could be presented should be one that can be supported in our group, the faction of the Liberal and Freedom Party. I believe that there are such candidates in the peasant faction, and I am not just referring to Rimas Baškienė, who is a completely unsuitable candidate for Mr Karbauskis.

It was possible to really speak and suggest some surnames, according to which the Speaker of the Seimas would have verified who has the most support, but it was not done. Don’t draw those red lines because then you are provoking your opponents who don’t fit that choice. I think we could have found those solutions, ”says I. Šimonytė.

Feels confident about ministerial nominations

Someone said that maybe I am afraid of offending someone that I really did not want and I do not intend to offend anyone. In my opinion, these are the right people, and it will be the prerogative of the president to have his own opinion, and we will discuss it, ”says I. Šimonytė.
