Former Kaunas regional judge, politician and now officially unemployed N. Venckienė was convicted of failing to execute a court decision, obstruction of the sheriff’s performance of his duties, resistance to police officers and minor health problems by being brought to the daughter of Laimutė Stankūnaitė to Garliava.

As a result, the judicial carousel in Panevėžys lasted two years. During all this time, Venckienė did not admit his guilt and persistently defended himself. But at dawn on the day of the verdict, there is no great hope. “I don’t know if there was any logic, I really don’t believe in 10 years. What are you going to do now?” Says N. Venckienė.

Almost 10 years have passed since the Garliava events on Klonio Street. During that time, a handful of the most faithful remained on the streets. Supporters interviewed still believe in Venckien’s innocence.

“I’ve been watching those events since Garliava, it’s been ten years, that’s what I appreciate.

“It just came to our knowledge then. Angry, the whole story of Garliava, the story of a girl, there are not only families, but girls,” says another.

Although the charges in the criminal case against Neringa Venckienė were not difficult, she expected the statute of limitations to expire, but the court found Kaunas guilty and sentenced him to almost 2 years in prison. However, Venckienė will lose his imprisonment because he has already served his sentence; time spent in preventive detention is included.

“Recognizing the fact that Neringa Venckienė was serving a sentence of one year, nine months and six days in prison for extradition, the panel, including that period, declared that this was sufficient to achieve the purposes of the sentence,” Judge Valdas Meidus Announced.

In addition, Stankūnaitė received 4,000 non-pecuniary damages and more than 2,000 material damages from Venckienė. In this case, the action of Kedyt case has not been taken into account. In addition, Venckienė is obliged to pay the costs of extradition from the USA to Lithuania: another 6,000 euros.

The bailiff and the police officer were also awarded compensation: another 3,500 euros. Venckienė disagrees with the latter, as he denies hitting Stankūnaitė.

“There is a video, so if Stankūnaitė is not kicked, now they condemn me for having kicked her. So that I can see clearly, there is nothing. It is a lie, now Vaicekauskienė is copying the lawsuit of the gang of the case, putting it in this, no I am extradited for those requirements ”, says N. Venckienė.

The former judge was one of the most important participants in the so-called Garliava events. Venckienė took care of his daughter for a long time, did not carry out the court decisions to hand her over to her mother L. Stankūnaitė. Until finally, the girl was forcibly taken from her aunt’s house. Even after such litigation, Venckienė does not promise to give up, it will appeal the decision on appeal and, for the time being, does not promise to leave Lithuania.
