This became clear after prosecutors carried out a pre-trial investigation, in which up to 15 criminal acts were alleged against Gediminas K, who had previously been convicted and worked as a driver in a public limited company in Klaipėda.
As the single man fully acknowledged the charges against him, the prosecutors went to court and requested that the trial end with a criminal order, thus examining the material collected during the preliminary investigation in a written procedure and reducing the sentence of Gediminas K. by a third.
However, this did not console the man at all: Judge Rasa Stonkuvienė imposed a fine of 417 MGL (20,850 euros) for the crimes charged against him. The court ordered the convict to pay it within two years.
In addition, the judge ordered Gediminas K. to confiscate two computers, external data carriers and a network data storage device seized by police officers during the search. They were, according to the court, tools of crime and therefore cannot be returned to a person convicted of criminal offenses under the law.
According to the case, it was established that the Lithuanian Police were approached by the personnel of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children of the United States, who indicated that pornographic videos of sexual exploitation of minors.
When police officers searched Klaipeda’s home and took computers and other equipment found at his home, further evidence was found: the man had acquired more videos and photos with minors (under 14 years old) photographed and filmed and minors (minors of 18).
Specialists from the Inspector of Journalistic Ethics and the State Forensic Medical Service, who examined the records, found that the records were pornographic and sexually exploited.

In addition, during the search, officials found more evidence in Gediminas K’s technique: illegally obtained and stored non-public electronic data using the online data warehouse.
According to officials, the man had obtained the email addresses and passwords of more than 13 billion Internet users who were intended to connect to information systems. Klaipėda residents needed this data because they wanted to connect to VPN software, a virtual private network for anonymous browsing on the Internet, by changing their IP address and thus avoiding identification in the systems.
Investigators found that using this data illegally obtained from others, Gediminas K. went online and transmitted pornographic recordings anonymously. Additionally, he used the software to encrypt some of these records, which could only be viewed by entering a password after downloading.
A Klaipėda resident interested in child pornography was reluctant to tell officials about his secret life, but did not hide the fact that the recordings he had saved on his computers gave him great satisfaction.
Gediminas K. also made no secret of the fact that she shared the videos with a man she corresponded with on Facebook. And he allegedly sent these recordings from various websites, including through the correspondence program Telegram.
The Klaipėda resident admitted that the officers caught him when he sent a recording of pornographic content showing a sexually exploited child to an “online friend”.
“Actually I have not seen it, I have not even communicated live, I do not know its real details, I only know the name in its account,” he did not want to betray.
What the man to whom Gediminas K. sent child pornography records could not be determined by officials, his account is currently locked and inaccessible to other Internet users.
The defendant also admitted to sending not only a large amount of pornography, but also personal data of strangers to other users.
“I needed a login email. Email and passwords, because I intended to use this login details when connecting via VPN, so that I could send pornographic content to my friend online after encrypting my identity “said the Klaipėda resident, so his passwords have changed.
“Because quality VPN services are paid for, I, like many people around the world, searched the Internet for hacked connections from hackers that could be used to connect to a VPN without paying for VPN services,” he said.

Gediminas K., prosecuted for the illegal acquisition, possession and distribution of records of child pornography and the illegal acquisition of data from strangers, stated that he fully acknowledged the charges against him. He asked the court to allow him to pay the fine within 5 years, as he receives a salary of around 800 euros per month.
“From this money I have to pay taxes, part of them for food, car maintenance,” he said. However, the court did not grant such a request and almost 21 thousand. Eur ordered the payment of the fine within two years.
Delfi.lt announced that the Lithuanian courts annually investigate dozens of criminal cases of illegal possession of pornographic records representing children. Most of the time it involves children filmed abroad, but officials have also recorded cases in which minors or minors are persuaded or even voluntarily send their photos to perverts, who often also pretend to be girls.
“While keeping records of child pornography is an easier crime than distribution, the very fact that a person is interested in such things is already a serious sign: it is necessary to take an interest in what we do,” authorities said.
According to them, child pornography “fans” who get caught up in Lithuanian officials often offer various excuses, but the real truth about why they downloaded, stored or even distributed pornography is not dared to say out loud.
“Today, almost without realizing it, the pornography industry is ending its conquest of the world; its annual earnings are higher than all professional sports combined,” said Kristina Mišinienė, director of the Center to Combat Human Trafficking and Exploitation. – There are no reliable studies on this issue in Lithuania, in the US it is announced that 35 percent. all information uploaded online contains pornographic content, and children are introduced to virtual pornography from the age of 11 on average. The American Psychological Association is even simpler: Pornography harms children and adults, destroys families and society. Let’s talk about this insidious phenomenon with teenagers on the school bench, help them recognize the dark threats of the Internet, because it can take a lifetime to get rid of them. “
