Accident at the Taurage airfield: the plane crashed into a slope and caught fire

Firefighters received a disaster report on September 5 at 3:39 pm It was reported that an ultralight sports plane crashed and caught fire at the Taurag aer airfield operating in the village of Girininkai.

The Situation Coordination Division of the Fire and Rescue Department (PAGD) reported that the fire was extinguished at 4:04 p.m. According to firefighters, the pilot was not seriously injured.

15 minutes knowledge, an experienced pilot took a second lap at an airfield when the engine suddenly died. He was able to successfully plan from a height of about 100 meters to the meadow at the rear of the airfield. However, there was a drainage ditch and, before stopping, the plane crashed into the slope and caught fire. If it weren’t for that ditch, the descent would likely have been successful.

The pilot jumped out of a Polish-made plane, but a flash of fire burned him, hitting his face and hands. He himself deliberately ran towards the airfield building where his colleagues were.

The victim was transferred to the Tauragė Hospital, from there to the Kaunas Clinics. Her health is stable.
