A woman who entered the store without a mask rushed to hit a security guard: Similar conflicts are on the rise

According to Kaunas County Police data, the 45-year-old woman who arrived at the store floated in uncensored words and resisted the security guard.

The incident was caused by the client’s unwillingness to put on a mask. The security guard warned her, but the woman ignored the warnings, so an attempt was made to get her out of the store. The client did not like it and attacked the bodyguard. He needed medical help after the collision.

The police were summoned to the scene, the aggressor was arrested and a pre-trial investigation was initiated for the incident in Article 140 of the Penal Code: causing physical pain or minor health disorder.

“Iki” spokeswoman Vaida Budrienė Delfi said similar incidents occurred more than a year ago, as soon as the quarantine was introduced and people were not used to the new order. Still, he mentioned that this may be the first time in his network that the conflict has turned into violence.

“After the start of the quarantine, maybe a year everything calmed down and there were no conflicts, people probably got used to that order,” said V. Budrienė. – But now that the debate on the possibility of passports, vaccines has started, it has exacerbated some customers, those who probably did not want to wear those masks before. Certainly we can see a slight increase in the number of conflict situations due to the masks. “

The interviewee mentioned that generally when a person does not agree to wear a mask, the police are simply called.

For refusing to wear a mask, officials can impose a fine in accordance with article 45 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, and violators may need 500 to 1,500 euros to thin their wallets.

According to V. Budrienė, it is expected on September 13 with a little anxiety, when it will be possible to enter some stores only with passports of opportunity.

“Most customers are well aware of the restrictions, but those situations are likely to increase as of September 13 and most spills will occur on our staff,” he said.

The case is not the first

Delphi has also described more cases where conflicts in stores over masks have turned into violence. For example, last April, former kickboxer Dmitrijus visited Maxima in Trakai Vokė.

The buyer, who was unwilling to put on a mask, got into a fight with the security guard and eventually hit him on the head with his fist.

“A security guard approached me at the store and told me that it was necessary to wear a protective mask,” the former kickboxer himself said of the incident. – He said I should put on a mask or – get out of the store. Then there was a conflict between us – a few minutes later the security guard stopped me by the left arm and said “do not illustrate”, he dragged me and teased me, so I did not hold back and threw his right hand in the area of his face. “

It is true that the kickboxer was not severely punished for this crime, he paid a non-pecuniary damage of 700 euros and the court closed the case for violation of public order after the victim and the accused reconciled.

A similar case occurred in “Maxima” in Jonava, when repeat offender Marius Kocherov, who had been convicted many times, also did not want to put on a mask and hit the security guard in the face.

The security guard and his colleagues managed to arrest the man and lock him in the handrail. Kocherov had no mercy: the court sent him to the dungeon for 7 months for this rage.
