“I do not understand who Saulius Čaplinskas represented and how he was invited to participate in the meeting. I may be wrong, but as far as I know, he was on sick leave due to an illness that started immediately after he was fired for repeated misconduct as manager ”, on his Facebook account the Wednesday after the meeting, posted by A. Veryga.
Saulius Čaplinskas, director of the Center for Communicable Diseases and AIDS (ULAC), received the news of the dismissal when he was ill; Due to the illness, he was officially unable to work, which continues to this day.
15 minutes After contacting S. Čaplinskas, he explained that his disease code in the ICD classification does not prevent him from joining meetings and sharing interviews remotely.
“Let it go back (to Sodra, – aut. Past.). It’s something very simple: the ICD code does not prevent me from speaking, sitting down or connecting to a computer,” said S. Čaplinskas.
In the Facebook post, A.Veryga also raised more questions about S.Čaplinskas.
“It is not clear if my colleague Čaplinskas was the head of ULAC at the meeting. But a much more serious question is whether it is normal to be present everywhere in case of illness and associated incapacity for work, and even more so to represent the institution. And, as I understand, no one from ULAC attended the Health Committee meeting anymore. It seems that a sick and absent manager works where he wants, “wrote the former minister.
“If it has nothing more to do with your ambitions, then your problems. If you don’t understand how much damage your actions sent. The point,” S. Čaplinskas commented.
He stressed that he joined the meeting not from work because he currently has a certificate of incapacity to work.
“It is strange that, separately, an educated person, a member of the Seimas with legal education, has such questions,” added S. Čaplinskas.
15 minutes According to data provided by SAM, currently Minister Arūnas Dulkys has not made any decisions about the future of S. Čaplinskas.
Speaking to LRT radio on Tuesday, A. Dulkys said that the situation regarding S. Čaplinskas is being clarified by the ministry’s lawyers, their response has not yet been received.
“From what I have known, this is a very long story with many evaluations of all kinds, with a lot of correspondence, official investigation commissions. I hope that all these processes are carried out in a legally orderly manner,” the minister told LRT Radio.
