According to A. Veryga, the situation remains difficult. Indicators of virus spread are deteriorating.

According to the Minister of Health, according to the COVID-19 indicators, Lithuania will be on the list of the so-called red states, that is, those where the situation is most threatening.

The specialists reviewed the processes related to the epidemiological study of outbreaks, informing the population.

As the situation worsened due to the spread of the coronavirus, A.Veryga appealed to the neighbors asking them to reconsider the need to go to the cemetery to visit the graves of their loved ones.

He advised people at risk for chronic diseases to abandon plans to go to the cemetery.

If people continued to ignore the recommendations, the Health Minister asked to avoid contact with other people, wear masks, not meet, etc.

“The advice would be simple: if possible, we will not visit the graves en masse this year,” urged A. Veryga.

You can suggest new restrictions

On Tuesday, the COVID-19 steering committee, according to the Minister of Health, will consider the situation regarding the spread of the infection and evaluate the data.

“I could not say anything concrete today, because some of the measures that have been adopted have recently entered into force. But I would definitely not rule out the possibility that additional ones are offered and, apparently, that they will be more related, if there are any, with places where people gather and that may not be necessary for, let’s say, life ”, pointed out A. Veryga .

Local quarantine is currently being announced in 21 municipalities of the country.

The Health Minister said there is no possibility that it will be revoked earlier than planned now.

“I certainly would not rule out the possibility that a national quarantine is also issued, because, as he says, there are fewer and fewer municipalities in the yellow or green zone. But that should be decided by the Government. I couldn’t really say for her, “commented A.Veryga.

“And I think we unnecessarily think that there is a safe state in Europe that is somehow miraculously protected from the spread of the disease. I can only remind you that not so long ago our neighbor Latvia had a very small number. And you probably remember, I almost You asked every day what Latvians do to prevent the disease from spreading, and we have it. It was just a temporary thing. If people travel, move, communicate, the disease spreads. It will spread from Sweden, it will spread over all of Europe ”, commented the Minister of Health.

A.Veryga reiterated that the spread of the infection is determined by objective circumstances: the fact that people travel, meet, communicate, celebrate and things like that. Therefore, in his opinion, it is not necessary to look for someone’s mistakes.

How long is the virus viable?

According to L. Jančorienė, there is evidence that the coronavirus does not remain viable for more than 10 days.

Therefore, people with COVID-19 can become infected for up to 10 days. Except in severe forms where the virus can spread for 20 days.

Therefore, guidelines issued abroad indicate that the duration of isolation for people with mild illnesses should be reduced.

According to the latest recommendations, it is not recommended to repeat the molecular test for COVID-19 for three months.
