Last day a record number of new coronavirus cases was detected in Lithuania: 172 cases were confirmed, the Health Ministry announced on Friday.
This is the highest number of cases detected in the country since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A new death, 93, was reported Friday morning, and another death, 94, from COVID-19 was reported shortly after noon.
A total of 4,956 people were confirmed with COVID-19 in Lithuania, 2,378 infected were still sick and 2,466 had recovered.
A total of 94 people died from the coronavirus infection and 19 people died from other causes.
There are 26 thousand in isolation. 602 people.
As of June 1, 278 import cases had been identified in Lithuania.
6,424 suspected coronavirus samples were analyzed during the previous day. So far a total of 788,000 have been investigated. 384 samples.
This week, starting September 28. Until October 4. inclusive, residents of the districts of Raseiniai, Radviliškis, Šiauliai, Kupiškis, Kelmė, Akmenė, Ukmergė, Rokiškis, Jurbarkas, Pakruojis, Mažeikiai, Plungė, Biržai, Švenčionys, as well as the cities of Vilterán Šuliai, Ka seunas and tests more intensive for the corona virus. These 17 municipalities have a higher incidence than other Lithuanian municipalities.
