A quarantine regime is being introduced in Raseiniai – DELFI

According to the Government Resolution, during the quarantine, the intensity of passengers traveling on long-distance, suburban and urban passenger transport routes will be limited: it is only allowed to occupy seats located at a distance of at least 1 meter. Vehicles must be disinfected at the beginning and end of each route.

People are obliged to visit public places and be in groups of no more than 2 people, except family members, to maintain a distance of at least 2 m between people or groups of people, to avoid direct physical contact, to observe personal hygiene requirements. These last requirements do not apply only during funerals.

In public places, people over 6 years of age must wear protective equipment that covers the nose and mouth, except when eating or drinking in public catering establishments, as well as during the provision of the service, when the service cannot be lend with the masked customer.

In Raseiniai it is also recommended to restrict movement for unnecessary reasons, various institutions are recommended to organize work remotely. During the quarantine, visits to cultural, leisure, entertainment, sports and physical service facilities for visitors will be prohibited, except in high-level sports competitions.

Public events and gatherings are prohibited, except for gatherings due to the Seimas elections taking place in the country. Catering establishments, restaurants, cafes, bars, discos and other entertainment venues, casinos will be open from 8 am. until midnight.

The points of sale may operate if the store area per customer is not less than 10 square meters.

The activities of all educational institutions will be organized only remotely, visits to inpatient social service institutions are prohibited. Day and employment centers for children, people with disabilities and the elderly will also be prohibited.

Religious communities are advised not to perform religious rites.

As Health Minister Aurelijus Veryga said during the government meeting on Wednesday, the epidemiological situation in the Raseiniai district remains bad. The minister acknowledged that Raseinians are slow to test for coronavirus.

“Unfortunately, there is still no basis for calm,” Veryga said.
He was also seconded by Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis.

“So far, we see that the situation there is not changing substantially,” said S. Skvernelis, addressing the residents of Raseiniai and urging them to investigate so that the municipalities do not have to close at all.

It is true that shortly after the meeting, the Prime Minister stated that if the epidemiological situation in the district stabilizes and improves, the quarantine regime in Raseiniai can be lifted earlier.

At the time, Gailutė Smagriūnienė, spokesperson for the Šiauliai County Police Chief’s Station, informed Elta that the capacity of the officers patrolling the district would be strengthened during the quarantine in Raseiniai. Officials will also monitor those who need to be in self-isolation.
