The guy, who checked his grades for the last exams, was even quite surprised: he had a total of six hundred in his account, obtained by taking tests in mathematics, English, Lithuanian language and literature, physics, biology and chemistry.

Satisfactory results are the result of constant work

According to Simon, such record results were determined not only by the concentration and success that accompanied it during the state maturity exams, but also by the regular twelve-year work done in class and at home.

“I am glad that in all six exams I managed to avoid careless mistakes, everything went perfectly and I achieved such results. Of course, in preparation for the exams, I felt a great responsibility to achieve the best possible results, to achieve my goals, so by working steadily, we achieved it ”, the boy shared his success and impressions with the JP news portal.

Expectations have always been optimal

Gym graduate J. Balčikonis claims that for all graduates, exams are probably the biggest challenge of twelve years and that requires hard work, controlled stress and emotions, so it wasn’t easy for him to focus and try to complete all the tasks either. .

“I knew that if I didn’t make careless mistakes, I could get the highest scores. Therefore, I tried not to rate the exams, not to think about the points I would get and to keep the main goal: to accumulate enough points to enter successfully to the desired university. During the exams I did not score either, but I tried to answer all the questions in a focused way and, as it was clear, it turned out very well “, the graduate does not hide the smile on his face.

The most difficult is the Lithuanian language test.

After knowing the final results of the exams, S. Melela does not hide that the Lithuanian language and literature exam caused the most reflections and hesitations:

“The Lithuanian language test is probably the most unpredictable. I also have the least experience in this field, such as natural or exact sciences. On the other hand, the topic I chose about human behavior in the face of threat was quite familiar, I had I had to write essays on similar topics several times, I was able to rely on my favorite and well-known authors, so I felt pretty good after the assignments. However, it was very difficult to predict the results of the exam, so I was happier with the hundred ”, Says Simonas about the difficulty of the exam.

Future plans are much more impressive

During the school year, the boy not only studied diligently and prepared for the tests that awaited him at the end of the school year, but said goodbye to the J. Balčikonis Gymnasium, winning various awards at national and international Olympics.

“Competing with other students from all over Lithuania, they managed to win a gold medal at the Biology Olympiad, silver medals at the Physics, Chemistry, Geography and Astronomy Olympics. Meanwhile, in the international context, due to the year of quarantine and the pandemic that still plagued the world, there were slightly less Olympics: I participated in the European Physics Olympiad and won a bronze medal.

And for the rest of the summer, the International Olympiad of Biology and Chemistry is still waiting ”, says the centurion, who intends to spend a lot of time preparing.

When asked which side of science or science the boy’s studies will take, Simon certainly already has a solid answer here.

“I will choose to study at one of the most prestigious universities in the UK, specializing in biology and biochemistry,” Simon did not hide from the JP news portal.

It is an honor not only for the gym or Panevėžys, but also for the whole of Lithuania.

Raimondas Dambrauskas, the director of the J. Balčikonis Gymnasium, who knows S.Melika very well and knows the boy’s merits, was no less surprised by the graduate’s results.

“It is very difficult to say when the school community, the whole city or even Lithuania will again have another young man so talented and infinitely wise. It’s safe to say that Simonas is the purest miracle of the pure and an example of a persistent desire to strive for knowledge. ”R. Dambrauskas is happy with the gym student’s success.

The gym director adds that the entire community is always amazed and happy with Simon’s accomplishments and accomplishments. “Therefore, all that remains for this extraordinary talent and talent is to wish him success in his studies and in his future life, which is closely related to science and its discoveries,” says Gym Director J.
