The woman said that GMP is not in the cemetery for a long weekend and also emphasized that the workload of doctors is really huge due to the COVID-19 situation. “No one ordered a stand-by, we cannot drive on our own initiative. Before the long weekend, the Minister of Health, Aurelijus Veryga, made the same appeal. “(…) this is a time when we generally travel to our homeland, visit the graves of loved ones, the request would be to rethink the need to go there this year, if there is such an opportunity, postpone the trip”, said. Veryga urged residents to wear masks, whether or not the quarantine has been announced in the visited municipality.
According to the recommendations of the Ministry of Health, it is proposed to postpone trips to municipalities where quarantine has been announced, if possible, it is recommended to travel to the place by private car, to avoid trips by trolleybus, bus or train. It is observed that people in isolation or with acute signs of upper respiratory tract infections (fever, cough, shortness of breath, etc.) are prohibited from visiting the graves of their loved ones, it is mandatory to stay at home.
In quarantine zones, cemeteries, as in other public spaces, cannot be grouped with groups of more than five people, except family members. It is necessary to maintain a distance of at least two meters between people or groups of people, to avoid direct physical contact (handshakes, hugs), to observe personal hygiene requirements.
It is not recommended to attend family gatherings organized indoors after visiting the graves. It is recommended to follow the prevention measures recommended by SAM everywhere: for people over six years of age who use nasal and oral protective equipment in public places: medical or textile face mask, with the exception of face protection for people with disabilities .
Police, for their part, said they would intensify patrols in the cemetery over the long weekend, regulate traffic, keep an eye on people from gathering, wear protective masks and keep a safe distance.
