The need to undertake the management of Gilužis Lake at this time arose due to various circumstances. First of all, the Vilnius city municipality decided to better organize its parcel of land. Second, a recreational area for public use has been designed to be installed on a parcel developed by private investors on the southeast side of Lake Gilužis, which is promised to be delivered to the municipality. Third, in the Vilnius General Plan, a vegetation system is planned on the shores of Lake Gilužis and its tributaries, and these solutions must be implemented. Although most of the shores of Lake Gilužis consist of private plots, it is necessary to consistently address the problems of installation, maintenance and public access to the vegetation of this area.
