SAM recalls that if in the last 14 days the number of COVID-19 cases in a foreign country is 100,000. the population is 15 to 25 cases, foreigners from that country can come to Lithuania, but those who arrive must remain isolated for 14 days.

If the number of cases does not exceed 15 cases per 100,000. population, such countries can not only enter, but those who arrive do not need to be isolated. When there are more than 25 cases for every 100,000 inhabitants, foreigners are prohibited from entering.

Meanwhile, Lithuanian citizens can come from any country, but for them, if the 14-day coronavirus incidence rate in that country is more than 15 cases per 100,000. Residents must be isolated for 14 days upon arrival in Lithuania.

As SAM points out, whether a person needs to be isolated when returning from abroad depends on the starting point of the trip. This means that if a person has proof that they are traveling from a country from which isolation does not apply upon their return or arrival, they do not need to be isolated, even if they have traveled in other countries. But only if you have not stayed in those countries for business or other purposes. If the traveler does not have such proof, he will be subject to measures according to the last country visited, from which he will come directly to Lithuania.

Those arriving by ferry from Sweden are advised that upon arrival in Lithuania they will be subject to 14-day isolation, even if the person traveled to the ferry in Sweden in transit from Norway or Denmark.

Furthermore, if a country is included in the Lithuanian list, that does not mean that Lithuanians can be admitted, there is no common agreement between all the countries of the European Economic Area. However, the same conditions apply in the three Baltic countries: Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.

This new procedure applies to foreigners from the countries of the European Economic Area, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. No decisions have yet been made on the entry of foreigners from third countries.
