Foreigners from Belgium and Ireland must remain isolated for 14 days. Lithuanian citizens can return to the country from all countries, but those arriving from the countries mentioned above must spend 14 days in isolation.

The Ministry of Health (SAM) recalls that if the number of cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in a foreign country in the last 14 days is 100,000. There are between 15 and 25 cases of the population, these people can enter Lithuania, but it will require 14 days of isolation for those who arrive. If the number of cases does not exceed 15 cases per 100,000. population, such countries can not only enter, but those who arrive do not need to be isolated.

Meanwhile, Lithuanian citizens may come from any country, but for them, if the 14-day coronavirus incidence rate is 15 cases per 100,000. the population should be isolated for 14 days.

Whether a person needs to be isolated when returning from abroad depends on the person’s original point of travel. This means that if a person has proof that they are traveling from a country from which isolation does not apply upon their return or arrival, they do not need to be isolated, even if they have traveled in other countries. But only if you have not stayed in those countries for business or other purposes. If the traveler does not have such proof, he will be subject to measures according to the last country visited, from which he will come directly to Lithuania.

This all applies to all countries on the list except Sweden. It is important to know that those arriving by ferry from Sweden should be vigilant, since due to the increased morbidity in this country, they will be subject to 14 days of isolation upon arrival in Lithuania, even if the person traveled to the ferry in Sweden in transit from Norway or Denmark.

SAM also reminds that country lists change weekly, so travelers should keep track of this information.

It is also important to mention that if a country is included in the Lithuanian list, that does not mean that Lithuanians can be admitted, there is no common agreement between all the countries of the European Economic Area. However, the same conditions apply in the three Baltic countries: Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.

This new regime applies to foreigners from the European Economic Area, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the Kingdom of Northern Ireland. No decisions have yet been made on the entry of foreigners from third countries.
