Another representative of the Kaunas criminal world, Marius Čebelis, who belonged to the Aleksotas gang, which was notorious for high-value robberies, wore police uniforms to commit crimes and killed some of his victims by concealing evidence and brutally murdered.

I tried to hide abroad

The investigator from the Kaunas Police Chief Commissariat, who unmasked this gang, received the title “Sequel of the year 2006”. In early 2005, it was collected by Žydrūnas Lekavičius, 36, from Aleksotas. M. Čebelis was 23 years old at the time and working in a Kaunas security service. And feeling that the police were already following in the gang’s footsteps, he, like other members of the gang, was still trying to hide abroad. However, he was arrested in England and brought to justice for the crimes committed. Finally, in May 2009, he was sent behind bars for seventeen years.

One of the crimes charged to M. Čebelis with common crimes was the robbery of a closed store that operated on Savanorių avenue, selling good quality perfumes and clothes, in the winter of 2005. A minibus was even borrowed to transport the loot planned. The attack took place at noon. M. Čebelis and another accomplice managed to convince the store clerk that they were friends of the owner. And he let them in. While these “buyers” opted for perfume, it arrived a third of the common. And soon the saleswoman was attacked and then she lost consciousness surrounded by duct tape. The intruders loaded the loot into the bags they brought and carried it to a nearby minibus until the owner appeared. This was soon linked with ties that he sold himself.

Police officers they became murderers

Another victim of this gang was an old money collector who lived on Baltijos Street. For this crime, police uniforms and falsified certificates of their agents were used.

Seeing through the door that the police officers were standing behind them, one of whom also showed a certificate, the apartment owner let them in, although he noticed the strange vibrating hand of a guest showing a document. After saying they wanted to interview the owner of the apartment, the visitors did not close the door behind them. Soon, through them, the apartment broke into the staircase, next to the elevator, hiding its common. It is suspected that the owner of the apartment was going to be kidnapped or perhaps murdered. However, this and his sixteen-year-old daughter at home were able to resist. Neighbors heard her cry for help. And the intruders escaped. When they disappeared, the owner of the apartment lost a collection of money from the previous album in the section of the website. It was later revealed that the thief had hastily taken the collection he was not targeting.

Another victim of this gang was a childhood friend of the leader, who lived at the entrances to the Botanical Garden and was engaged in transporting cars from abroad. While waiting for it to sell more cars, the victim was lured into an apartment rented by one of the gang members in Aleksotas, supposedly “happy to spend time with a beautiful girl.” But in reality, M. Čebelis was waiting for him there with three other gang members. The tied up businessman was tortured into telling him where he kept the money and the coin collection. He later entered his home using the keys confiscated from the victim. And they immediately rushed to find the hiding places obtained by torture. However, as the torturer said, 15 thousand. The money received for the cars sold, which M. Čebelis and his cooperatives had, was left with nothing. He had loaned most of this amount to a friend.

Fearing that the businessman would not turn to the police, it was decided to kill him. An electric cable was used for this. Mercedes-Benz police could not find the killed car. And his remains were dug out of the Marvel hillside after a while.

There was insufficient evidence for the judges

M. Čebelis, who is 36 years old today, has three years, one month and 13 days in prison. However, the Probation Commission of the open colony of Pravieniškės Prison, where he is serving his sentence, recently passed a resolution to impose parole on M. Čebelis. Motivated by the fact that he was promoted 33 times during his sentence, he does not have current sanctions, “motivates to continue working in a correctional institution, has positive provisions on control matters, does not express provisions that support criminal behavior, maintains social relations with relatives “, which even gave him the right to live in an apartment next to an open neighborhood with a family.

However, according to their report, the most important arguments for the Kaišiadorys Chamber of the Kaunas District Court were the nature of the crimes committed by M. Čebelis and the fact that he had already been acquitted of criminal responsibility, and the crime was not accidental but due to negative values.

“The unfulfilled portion of the custodial sentence for serious and very serious crimes does not yet lead to the unequivocal conclusion that the release of a convicted person from parole would fulfill the purpose of the sentence and apply the principles of individualization and justice.” , the court ruled. on the early release of M. Chebelis.

It is true that you can still appeal this decision to the Kaunas Regional Court.
