“I had to speak and explain with those responsible for at least two institutions, I think things are a bit inflated (…) I tried to delve into the Grunwald case, I really do not see any violation,” the parliamentarian told News Radio Monday.

He stated that the possible violation of the vaccination priority order at the Žalgiris Clinic is “completely unjustified” or “almost unreasonable”.

“Žalgiris Hospital has vaccinated a longtime hospital teacher and founder of the institute, a loner with many external risk factors, she comes to consult students, sometimes participates in councils. It is obvious that a morally beautiful gesture was made that a lonely person, former teacher and founder, should not be forgotten by the institution ”, said A. Matulas.

“All other vaccinated employees of the institute – I saw for myself that it is a long-term practice that starting in February the employees of the Institute of Dentistry are hired to teach students and in the spring they are fired again to save money, because the students haven’t seen me for a year. ” human mouth, you know that then there would not be things as interesting as spreading on Facebook, when a student recognizes the heart from the side where the watch is stuck in his hand, “he said.

The Seimas member also stated that there were “certain doubts” about possible violations of the vaccination procedure in Panevėžys and Šilalė, calling the latter case “incorrect”.

Matul also claimed that potential COVID-19 vaccination violations “do not really overshadow the work of the doctors and the ministry.”

Last week, BNS reported possible violations at the Žalgiris Clinic of the Vilnius University Hospital, when several professors from the VU Institute of Dentistry who did not have employment contracts with this clinic were vaccinated.

The Ministry of Health declared that teachers who did not have employment contracts with the Žalgiris Clinic could not be vaccinated against COVID-19 as a matter of priority.

Vytautė Pečiulienė, director of the Žalgiris Clinic, told BNS last week that the teachers were vaccinated because they will come to work with patients and students from February 1; they are temporarily employed according to the usual procedure, since the VU Institute of Dentistry is the clinical base of the institution.

The director also confirmed that Laura Linkevičienė, the daughter of MEP Juozas Olekas, who told BNS that she works at the clinic, was among those vaccinated.

Her husband Tomas Linkevičius, who works with her at a private dental clinic, as well as Vytenis Almonaitis, who also has a private office at the Žalgiris Clinic, and Professor Irena Balčiūnienė, retired former director of the Institute of Dentistry, also received the vaccine.

According to V.Pečiulienė, these teachers would not have been vaccinated if the institution had not received a sufficient number of doses of vaccine.

Last week’s news portal 15 minutes Ričardas Ūselis, the head of the Ambulansas company, which runs the station, and three family members who do not work for the company itself, were vaccinated against COVID-19 at the Šilalė ambulance station. The company’s vaccine list also included more clerical staff than medical last names.

Following the declaration of three conservators of the Seimas, the General Prosecutor’s Office commissioned the Special Investigation Service to investigate the cases at the Žalgiris Clinic, the Šilalė GMP Station and the Panevėžys and Šilutė Hospitals.
