Marius Stankevičius’s students lowered the guests – 0: 2 (0: 1) in the European Championship selection match held on Tuesday at the Vilnius Federation Stadium.
For the full 90 minutes, the Lithuanians never hit the opposing goal area. It was only during added time by the referee that Gustas Jarusevičius hit the crossbar, another attempt of ours, the head of Nauris Petkevičius, flew close to the goal and six more shots were blocked.
The Spanish, in turn, dominated by controlling the ball, made 15 shots, took 11 corners, but failed to score.
Until the 32nd minute, the ball simply fell on the head of Alejandro Francesui. After a standard situation, defender David Janson unsuccessfully tried to knock out the ball and the Spanish penalized for this error.

The Lithuanians managed to steal the ball from opponents in dangerous areas several times, but the precision of the attack on the spike was still insufficient.
The point was helped by Yeremi Pino, 18, who received a pass from Sergio Gomezo and sent the ball into the Lithuanian goal from a closed corner.
It is interesting that 3 months ago, the Spanish youth team (under 21) also played a control match with Lithuanian men. Then the young Spaniards crushed our main team 4: 0.
After losing for the second time, the Lithuanian Under-21 team are left without points in the national team for the European Youth Championship. Last week, M. Stankevičius’s students lost 1: 3 to their Slovakian peers.
