A further 215 new cases of the British strain of the virus have been identified – spread across three counties

No new cases of the B.1.351 virus line (South Africa) have been identified.

This week 186 samples were analyzed in the laboratory of the Vilnius Santara Clinics University Hospital (VULSK), of which 107 belong to variety B.1.1.7 (tests carried out on March 30). This variety represents 52 percent. (63/122) Vilnius, 74% (26/35) Alytus and 72% (18/25) Utena County samples analyzed this week.

172 samples were analyzed in the Kaunas Clinics laboratory (LSMUL KK) of the Health Sciences Hospital of the University of Lithuania, of which 108 cases with the B.1.1.7 line (tests performed on March 30). Information on county breakdown is under review.

To date, a total of 2,115 samples have been sequenced and 519 cases of virus lines B.1.1.7 and 5 B.1.351 have been detected in Lithuania, according to the sequencing project coordinated by NVSPL.
