The designated health minister said today was an important day as the new government would begin implementing its plan to combat the coronavirus four hours later.
“Following the advice of the WHO and Lithuanian experts, we want to invite everyone to a concerted effort and a goal, which consists of three components. “We will do our best to track cases and isolate people who have been in contact within 48 hours,” he said.
In addition, according to A. Dulkis, the objective will be that without reducing the scope of the tests, there will be no more than 5% of test tests.
“We will do everything possible to ensure that new cases do not exceed 200 per day,” he said.
According to him, until this is achieved, the coronavirus pandemic cannot be said to be under control. According to A. Dulkis, new measures on how to achieve the specified goals will be discussed on Friday.
“As far as I know, the Prime Minister will start a meeting with experts today,” he said.
According to him, the new measures are likely to be related to the restriction of quarantine measures, as well as vaccination plans, hospital workloads, the work of care facilities and a review of NVSC processes.
“Decisions about education and training institutions will be made in consultation not only with health experts but also with education experts,” he said.
When asked when the new bans should appear, A. Dulkys replied, “Yesterday.”
According to him, efforts will be made to ensure that all measures are adopted and come into force as soon as possible.
“Our objective is not the small requirements, but the measures that are likely to bring us closer to the objective we are pursuing,” he explained.
A.Dulkys assured that the data learned about the vaccination plan did not make him happy.
A.Dulkys said after the meeting with President Gitanas Nausėda that he will have prepared a coronavirus management plan with more than 130 measures.
Even then, he said he saw no preconditions for release from quarantine.
“To this day, I see no reason to relax, because in countries where the situation is three to four times better than the indicators, there are no more lenient measures. (…) If we take into account that viruses generally they like from November to December, so our viral hobbies, medical fatigue and the holiday marathon are, unfortunately, a very poor cocktail, “he said after meeting with the head of the country.
Prime Minister-designate Ingrida Šimonytė has said that as soon as she receives the mandate, she will convene a council of experts to hear what steps need to be taken immediately to handle COVID-19.
He stressed that if necessary, a meeting of the new government could be held immediately on this issue.
“Our goal for Christmas is to save as many lives as possible,” said I. Šimonytė.
The 18th government will receive the mandate on Friday if the Seimas approves its program.
