The representative of Minister Aistė Šuksta informed BNS about this.

“ On Tuesday a meeting took place with him (R. Petraitis – BNS), after which the minister sent a letter with questions to which he asked to be answered immediately, in relation to the organization of activities, unaccounted deaths, etc. ” a representative for A. Dulkis told BNS on Thursday afternoon.

On Tuesday, the Health Ministry reported that 804 unaccounted deaths related to the coronavirus were found during the digitization of NVSC activities.

According to the Ministry, a comparison of October-December data from the NVSC and the Registry Center revealed that 324 deaths from coronavirus and 480 deaths from other causes when deaths from coronavirus were not recorded.

A.Dulkys discussed this issue with R. Petraitis during a remote meeting on Tuesday and asked to provide a detailed written assessment of the situation.

I. Šimonytė later stated that the NVSC management should be responsible for the situation.

Gintautas Paluckas, chairman of the opposition Social Democratic Party, issued a statement on Thursday saying that the authorities’ criticism of the NVSC for the inaccurate COVID-19 statistics was only a cover for finding fault with the deteriorating situation of management of the pandemic.

“I ask both the Prime Minister and the Minister to refrain from hunting witches, because in this way we can completely destroy the system that has been working for a long time,” says G. Paluckas.

According to him, later it will be possible to recalculate the statistics, and for now “you have to do what is necessary, not go looking for extremes.”

“It is clear for the NSVC that they are almost enemies of the State, that they have ‘hidden’ the dead from Covid-19, there is no way,” explained the Social Democratic leader.

BNS was unable to reach R. Petraitis on Thursday. NVSC representative Austina Vžesniauskaitė also did not respond to BNS.
