“Almost 700,000 or twice the total budget for suicide prevention could have cost the infamous ‘sensor’ project, which many public mental health professionals have called pseudoscience,” the minister wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.

The Lithuanian Enterprise Support Agency, according to her, after conducting further investigation, provided conclusions that this project does not meet the requirements of the description of financing conditions.

“So this project is on hold, so far no funds have been paid,” he said.

According to the minister, mental health in our society remains a painful problem that many are still ashamed to talk about.

“So we don’t have to deal with this with ‘weeding’ devices, but with science-based prevention. Meanwhile, when investing public funds in new projects, we must follow the criteria of transparency, impartiality and objectivity, so that there are no doubts about the suitability of one or the other project. I hope this is a good lesson and from now on, when applying to the Lithuanian Business Support Agency, state institutions and companies will give good thought to these principles, ”he wrote.

“Biofield measurement is pseudoscience”

As previously announced 15 minutes, The Trakai District Municipality Pedagogical Psychology Service announced the purchase of a device to measure feelings and emotions. The Ukmerg Educación Education Support Service and the Science, Innovation and Technology Agency also contributed to the project.

The project has planned a total of 665 thousand euros, most of which will be financed by the European Union.

The main parameters, the measurement of which must be ensured by a new device: the sound emitted by a person (vibrations), the visual expressions of a person, the waves of a biofield emitted by a person, biophysiological parameters (non-invasive).

Some psychologists have criticized the development of such a device.

Psychologist, professor at Vilnius College Miglė Motiejūnė before 15 minutes expressed doubts about this project.

According to the psychologist, the measurement of the biological field planned in the project is a pseudoscience and, in general, the objectives set in the project can hardly be achieved.
