The second case identified in Marijampolė county is related to an import case from Tajikistan, the NVSC report notes. The first case was confirmed on July 2. In Vilnius County, a case was identified for a National Public Health Laboratory (NSPL) employee related to a case in Reiswoolf, where an outbreak of COVID-19 was recorded. This is a neighbor of an employee of this company. The individuals communicated on June 30. and July 4. They got into the elevator together. The first symptoms appeared on July 5. NVSPL identified 17 high-risk individuals and 10 low-risk individuals. Currently, a person exposed in the social environment is identified. The person works in a laboratory without COVID as determined by preventive testing.
The case in Utena County, as announced in the report by the National Center for Public Health, was identified by doctors from the Radiology Department of Utena Hospital, who had not left Lithuania. The case was clarified after preventive examinations by employees. The physician did not communicate with patients due to the nature of the work in this section. A total of 12 contact persons were identified, including 2 family members and 10 Utena Hospital staff members, of whom 6 had close contact. They are currently isolating. Epidemiological investigation is ongoing.
A total of 1,869 people were diagnosed with coronavirus in the last day, 207 people are still sick, 1,571 have recovered, and 128 people are isolated. 79 people died from COVID-19, and 12 other people who died from coronaviruses died from other causes.
As of June 1, 45 import cases had been registered in Lithuania.
