“The second case in Vilnius County is a resident of Rūdiškės. The circumstances of the infection are not yet known. (…) This case was identified during a selective investigation because a person was hospitalized at Trakai Hospital and a previous investigation was carried out, “said a representative from NVSC.
According to her, the hospital is known to nine people at high risk, they are isolated. A high-risk person has been identified in the immediate area.
In Kaunas, another case of importation from Uzbekistan.
“On July 2, he flew to Riga along with 23 colleagues. From Latvia, three buses traveled to Lithuania through the Saločiai border checkpoint. This is an Uzbek citizen. He is a long-distance driver,” said R. Lingienė .
“On July 3, she felt bad, on July 8 she started having a fever and was taken from the workplace to the hospital. “… he did not pay attention to the symptoms or hide them,” he added.
According to the NVSC representative, about 50 people have been exposed so far. Public health specialists are investigating whether this case is unrelated to a Lithuanian infected with coronavirus, who also returned from Uzbekistan the same day.
“The fourth case is a teacher from the city of Kaunas. He did not travel, he denies contact with the sick. Symptoms occurred on July 4, they enrolled in the study and the disease was diagnosed. The last time he visited the job was June 30, because he works remotely, “said R. Lingienė.
Seven people were exposed, he said.
According to Friday’s data, four new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed last day, a total of 1,861 people were infected with coronavirus in Lithuania, 202 people were still sick, and 1,569 recovered.
79 people died from COVID-19, and 11 other people living with coronaviruses died from other causes.
