The 1-year-old and 3-month-old baby, named after Joseph’s baptism, was blessed at the Kaunas Church of the Resurrection of Christ.
Gerda’s sister, Kristina, and her husband, Aurimas Bielskis, promised to accompany him on the path of faith and help him overcome his difficulties.
“I am the baptismal mother of Christie’s two daughters, she is my two sons. And this is probably natural, because the ordinance performed in the church has had many important missions in the past. It was as a protection and a guarantee that, in the event of an accident, a child will not be left without the care of loving people, “said G. Žemaitė.
The Samogitians began preparing for the ceremony in advance. First, his deacon Benas Ulevičius asked him to become the leader of the important rites.
“We knew that Nicholas’s baptism would unite our entire family. Unfortunately, one of Andrius’ sons was unable to return to Lithuania due to the consequences of the raging virus in the world. We miss him very much. But we are happy to finally be able to reunite and embrace other loved ones in one place, ”said G. Žemaitė.
Designer Modesta Šukė designed a festive outfit for herself, Krista and Nikolas, and was in charge of the style of Andrius, Gerda’s eldest son, Markas and the Baptismal Father. At the request of G. Žemaitė, the cream and brown colors dominated both the clothes and the Christmas decorations.
The christening ceremonies, led by the illusionist Modestas Petrikas, were held in the children’s entertainment space “Baltas butterys”.
According to G. Žemaitė, she was delighted with everything in the celebration: the program, the decorations, the host, the food, the symbolic gifts, the desserts, according to the press release.
“Well the cake was so fabulous! I’ve never seen anything like this before! ”, The mother of the culprit told about the work of the Bijola teachers, decorated with handmade lace and a sleeping angel.
The Why Not Events team took care of the baptismal attractions, during which a balloon garland was thrown into the air, a wish book was filled, a baptismal drink was sipped from the ice cup, and a baptismal meal was tried: cheese , honey and bread.
“It was amazing! It’s good that there will be holidays in the future too!”, G. Žemaitė hinted at his anniversary next year.
Gerda and Andrius found that they were expecting a child early, at 11 weeks pregnant. Due to the complexity of the research at the time, there was no question about the child’s gender.
The parents-to-be made a long list of names and kept looking for one that would appeal to both of them. Gerda and Andrew decided that their son would be Nikolas only at the end of her pregnancy.
Nicholas’s christening was originally planned during Samogitian’s wedding anniversary on April 19, but due to the quarantine, another date had to be chosen for the celebration. The baptism of the elderly Gerda was celebrated when the baby was six months old.
“It just came to our attention then. I wanted my son to walk now. It is interesting that both Mark and I and Nikolas took the first steps to celebrate the anniversary,” said G. Žemaitė.
Speaking of the young man, the mother did not hide: he is a true gift of destiny, judging by his sleeping habits. Starting at three months, Nicholas sleeps through the night, plunges into the dream realm around 9 p.m. and wakes up around 7 p.m.
Nikolas, who recently “trusted” the fourteenth tooth, is a calm but stubborn boy. Although she has her own room, which even has two differently designed cribs, she still won’t be leaving her parents’ room.
“He eats the usual adult food and doesn’t really complain about his appetite. So there was no children’s menu at baptism – we all tried the same dishes,” said G. Žemaitė.
Family members, especially Andrius and Elder Markas, help television presenters get back to work to address maternity concerns.
“Nicholas is our lightning bolt. A friendly boy who likes to communicate and, of course, is interested in technology,” said G. Žemait aseg with a smile.
