On July 3, the Ministry of Health (SAM) updated the list of countries most affected by coronavirus infection. Isolation is mandatory for arrivals from the countries mentioned therein. The list applies to residents of our country who return to Lithuania and to foreigners who have a permit to enter Lithuania.
According to the expanded list of countries, isolation is also mandatory for arrivals from Ukraine, Luxembourg, Serbia and Montenegro.
According to the Interior Ministry, the Government also plans to allow seafarers and foreigners to come to Lithuania for study purposes that have already been accepted for study.
According to the Ministry, these proposals are made taking into account the fact that both seafarers and students are included in the group of travelers when arrival is not for tourism purposes, but the main function is work or education. .
The Baltic states opened their borders to each other’s citizens in mid-May, but Lithuania has not carried out document verification procedures on the border with Latvia since early June. The land border with Poland was opened in mid-June.
