According to naviny.by, the politician reacted very fiercely to the Belarusian leader’s words about the alleged desire of the country’s state Duma deputies to attend the Victory Day parade in Minsk.

The day before, Lukashenko said in the audience, “We cannot postpone the May 9 parade.” He claims that some Russian parliamentarians have even expressed a desire to visit the Belarusian capital on Victory Day.

As Zhirinovsky told Echo Moskvy, if he himself received an invitation from Minsk, he could say that “the Liberal Democrat faction is not going anywhere” because the Liberal Democrats “follow the current requirements.”

“We will condemn everyone who decides to go to Minsk. This is unacceptable, it is a mistake and a crime committed by A. Lukashenko, and we will not contribute to that crime,” said V. Zhirinovsky.

Zhirinovsky earlier called Lukashenko’s policy on COVID-19 “irresponsible behavior of the European leader”: “Alexander Grigoryevich, stop before it is too late.”

Delphi recalls that the President of Belarus said on Sunday that he could not cancel the military parade planned on May 9 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s victory in World War II due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“I have to say that we cannot cancel the parade. We simply cannot. I thought about it for a long time. Of course, this is emotional, deeply ideological,” said the Belarusian leader, quoted by the state news agency BelTA.

According to Lukashenko, “it must be remembered that those people (participants in the war) died, perhaps from viruses and other diseases, but they did not feel it and did not think about it, but they died for us, no matter how pompous it sounded.”

“And think about what people will say. Perhaps not immediately, after one day, after two, they will say that we are afraid, “said the head of state.

“If people don’t want to, they are afraid, they protect their health, we will understand.” Today there are enough people, thousands and thousands of people want this event to take place, “said Lukashenko.

According to him, veterans of the armed forces are among those who want to see the parade.

“There were very few participants in the war. They understand and we have to protect them. Although they were the first to demand that they bring them to the event. Of course, they are already over 90 years old. We will think about what to do with them,” said the President.

“I follow my tactics: older people need protection. We all see that all of those infections primarily catch older people, even though they are young. So there is no need to drag anything into this massive event,” he said.

Lukashenko said he was convinced that the parade “was not the most dangerous for epidemiologists and virologists.”

According to Lukashenko, some Russian lawmakers have expressed a desire to attend the May 9 parade in Minsk.

“We welcome that. Let it come. If this requires a means of transportation, we will take care of it. Our airport is open. I think we will agree to the Russian leadership on a flight for those who want to visit us.” We are not closing. the door to our friends and brothers, “said the President of Belarus.

Lukashenko also said he believed that “representatives from all countries” could participate in the parade in Minsk this week.

Belarus “manages to curb morbidity” COVID-19

Lukashenko also said that Belarus was “generally successful in curbing the morbidity of COVID-19 coronavirus infection.

“When it comes to infectious diseases, we are clearly following the prognosis presented to me two months ago,” Lukashenko said at a meeting in Minsk on Sunday about the epidemiological situation.

He also said that there is enough personal protective equipment and medication in Belarus to treat patients with COVID-19.

“We have enough medicine. Also for treatment with newer modern methods,” said A. Lukashenko. According to the President, all major problems related not only to the safety of doctors in hospitals but also at other levels have been resolved.
