According to the Ministry of Health (SAM), 7 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Lithuania on Wednesday.

Added: Five new cases – imported.

A total of 1,825 people were identified by COVID-19 in Lithuania on Thursday morning.

From June 1. 33 import cases were identified.

According to information published this morning, 78 people died of coronavirus in Lithuania. Eleven other coronavirus patients died from other causes.

He healed 1,536 still ill 200 inhabitants. There are currently 66 people in solitary confinement.

To date, a total of 432,457 coronavirus tests have been performed, with 4,219 samples analyzed on Wednesday.

5 import cases

Five of the seven new cases of coronavirus are imported, reported the National Center for Public Health (NVSC).

“The coronavirus was detected in two people who returned from Sweden and in three who returned to Lithuania from Ukraine,” said Ginreta Megelinskienė, head of the Infectious Disease Management Division of the Vilnius Department of NVSC.

According to her, people returning from Sweden took the ferry to Latvia, Ventspils, and from there they drove to Lithuania: one to Klaipeda, the other to Anykščiai district.

“Both people work in the same company, neither of them feels the symptoms.” The first person was contacted by two family members. A more detailed analysis of these cases is currently underway, ”said a representative from NVSC.

According to G. Megelinskienė, three returnees from Ukraine are collaborators.

“They returned to Lithuania on June 27 by car through the Lazdijai border checkpoint. One person has been in Ukraine since January 6, others have joined later. These are members of a team. The individuals have been prophylactically tested and have no symptoms. Four exposed individuals were identified. One of them is in Ukraine, “he said.

A new procedure for preventive exams.

SAM has introduced a new procedure for preventive examinations. From now on, treatment and social assistance institutions should examine 2 to 5% of all employees per week when the municipality is classified as a low-risk municipality.

When a municipality is classified as a high-risk municipality, 15-20% of all employees in treatment and social care facilities will be required to undergo testing, including the staff of pharmacies located in the facilities of these facilities.

From July 3. The criteria for dividing municipalities into low and high risk municipalities are updated.

The municipality will be indicated as high risk if it meets all the following criteria: 14 d. the total morbidity rate per 100,000 inhabitants in the municipality will be higher than Lithuania’s two-week total rate per 100,000 inhabitants, 14 d. The morbidity rate per 100,000 inhabitants is greater than five cases in 14 days. More than one case of coronavirus has been reported in the municipality.
