The Lithuanian Radio and Television Commission has blocked 29 websites that have distributed illegally protected content. These decisions culminate in a multi-month phase in which a total of 50 sites that illegally distribute movies, music and books were blocked.

Among the blocked sites and their mirror copies are “filmux.online”, “filmai.eu”, “tophitai.com” or “books.in”. Mirror copies of these websites are entitled to be blocked by the Lithuanian Radio and Television Commission (LRTK) on their own initiative and do not require a court decision.

“Restricting access pays off and we see that traffic to blocked sites has dropped dramatically. Not only do we respond to this, but so do content thieves, who put a lot of effort into making a copy of a blocked site on their We are in a kind of race, therefore, we strive to implement the processes in the shortest possible time, “says Andrius Katinas, Head of the LRTK Business Entities Supervision Division, in the distributed report.

2018 On November 8, Seimas adopted amendments to the Copyright and Related Rights Act, which force Internet service providers to block websites that distribute works illegally.

Rights holders and collecting societies (LATGA, AGATA, AVAKA) can request a request to block one or the other website from the Lithuanian Radio and Television Commission.

In one year, more than 70 hacked websites and their mirror copies have been blocked, including “filmai.in”, “torrent.lt” and “torrent.ai”, which have caused the most damage to developers.
