R. Lingienė said that the infected employee of the Vilna Republican Psychiatric Hospital is not a doctor, but that she had contact with patients, she did an auxiliary job.

Among other things, the person may have had connections to a fireplace that emerged after a personal celebration in Kalveliai.

Both cases were identified during a preventive inspection.

“He does not belong to medical personnel, he lives in the Vilnius district, according to preliminary data, there are possible connections with the village of Kalveliai. We explain that it is not so easy to discover everything in the Vilnius district, ”said the public health specialist.

According to her, several dozen people are currently identified as being at high risk: five – in the family, two of them visited through Jonines, approximately 20 – hospital personnel, as well as 31 patients from one of the hospital wards.

“Currently, the department has a separate team of staff, disinfection has been performed and the department is not accepting new patients,” said R. Lingienė.

He also added that exposed patients will be evaluated one week and two weeks after exposure, workers are currently isolated, they will be evaluated two weeks after returning to work.

Investigating kindergarten

The second case, confirmed Thursday, was found in a minor who is a relative of an Šeškinė polyclinic employee who was infected last week.

According to preliminary data, nine minors and three staff members in the kindergarten were exposed.

“This person is a minor and had contact with other children attending one of the kindergartens in Vilnius -” Karuselė “, – said the public health specialist.

According to her, the minor does not feel any symptoms. He was diagnosed with coronavirus when all members of the outpatient family were examined.

According to preliminary data, nine minors and three staff members in the kindergarten were exposed.

“Everyone does not feel symptoms, these people are isolated, the facilities have been disinfected. According to our instructions, the investigation of the employees and parents of the children who had contact with this kindergarten is organized,” said R. Lingienė.

A total of 1808 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus, 219 people are still sick, 1501 have recovered, and 140 people are isolated.

78 people died from coronavirus, and ten more from people infected with coronavirus died from other causes.
