“I knew I couldn’t, I knew, but curiosity won, I couldn’t do anything,” said David S., a Vilnius resident who is currently not officially working, when criminal police officers searched his home for evidence.
Officials decided to search David S.’s home after receiving information from the US National Center for Missing and Exploited Children; His staff reported that a man living in Vilnius had given other users access to pornographic records containing sexual exploitation data on his mobile phone via the Internet, young children.
After verifying the Internet user’s address, criminal police officers discovered that David S., a young man who had not been the center of attention before, was involved in the distribution of child pornography.

The suspect explained that since approximately December of last year, he installed the chat and sharing application “Kik” on the phone; It is especially popular abroad, it is used mainly by teenagers and young people.
“I wanted to meet new people, and this app is popular and used to communicate in a variety of groups,” David S explained during the survey.
The guy made no secret of the fact that he had been interested in pornography for some time, he was constantly watching it and storing some of the images on his mobile phone.
“There are many pornographic photos and recordings on my phone that I downloaded myself,” admitted the suspect before an expert inspection of the mobile device.
He made no secret of knowing that it was forbidden to send or distribute pornography to others, but justified that he still did so: “Just out of curiosity.”

And he added here that he did not know sexually exploited minors, nor did he try to seek such a relationship.
“Those videos were taken from the internet, non-Lithuanian children were actually recorded there,” said David S.
The fact that the pornographic videos on the suspect’s mobile phone contain minors under 14 years of age was confirmed during the investigation not only by the Inspector of Journalistic Ethics, but also by specialists from the State Medical Forensic Service.
As David S. pleaded guilty to the charges against him during the pre-trial investigation and stated that he sincerely regretted his crimes and promised not to commit crimes in the future, the prosecutors decided to end the criminal process with a criminal warrant: the entire case. he was transferred to the Vilnius City District Court. He examined the case by written procedure.
“The court considers it proven that David S. possessed (acquired, retained and distributed) pornographic objects representing children,” said Judge Ieva Narbutaitė, who issued the criminal order.
He declared that the objectives of the sentence in the present case would be achieved by imposing on David S. a statutory sanction close to the minimum threshold: the convicted person would have to pay a fine of 4 thousand euros to the state budget. In addition, the convicted person confiscated a mobile device from the convicted person, which was recognized as a means of committing a crime.
Judge Deidwu S. was allowed to pay the court fine within ten months.

“While keeping records of child pornography is a lesser offense than distribution, the very fact that a person is interested in such things is already a serious sign: it is necessary to take an interest in what we do,” authorities said.
According to them, child pornography “fans” who get caught up in Lithuanian officials often offer various excuses, but the real truth of why they downloaded, stored or even distributed pornography is not dared to say out loud.
Speaking of the nightmare that victims of sexual perverts have to go through, the latter do not bow down and tend to keep all their experiences to themselves, and any child can get into such situations, so we have to talk about it now. the school bank.
“Today, almost without realizing it, the pornography industry is ending its conquest of the world: its annual profit is higher than all professional sports combined,” said Kristina Mišinienė, director of the Center for Combating Human Trafficking. Humans and Exploitation. – There are no reliable studies on this issue in Lithuania, in the US it is announced that 35 percent. all information uploaded online contains pornographic content, and children are introduced to virtual pornography from the age of 11 on average. The American Psychological Association is even simpler: Pornography harms children and adults, destroys families and society. Let’s talk about this insidious phenomenon with teenagers on the school bench, help them recognize the dark threats of the Internet, because it can take a lifetime to get rid of them. “
