“So far, the statistics are really good, we can be happy: isolated cases. If that is the case, we will certainly be able to breathe better. However, we cannot completely forget, relax, but so far we have isolated cases. The scope of the evidence is still considerable: out of 5,000, evidence 1 was only positive. This is a good situation, “A. Veryga told reporters at Seimas on Thursday.

According to the minister, several epidemiologists who speak about a large number of people infected with COVID-19 asymptomatically may have political reasons. Furthermore, A. Veryga emphasized that randomized tests conducted in Lithuania did not find many infected people who had no symptoms of the disease.

“Sometimes it’s weird to see those comments from epidemiologists who don’t know where to get those theories from.” Lithuania tested such randomized tests: it was the weekend that some cities got better, others got worse, but when the situation got worse, … attempts were made to look for those random and asymptomatic cases. We didn’t find much. Basically we found nothing. We find them in those places where the propagation conditions are good, where infected people come in very close contact, “said A. Veryga.

“I don’t know where the idea of having many of them comes from. Those ideas were very diverse: how many people will get sick from us, how will they be asymptomatic, what is needed, what is not needed. It turns out that some of those epidemiologists have now turned to politics. I don’t know why those comments are shared. Maybe just to get attention, “said the Minister of Health.

According to A. Veryga, in Lithuania on July 10. A large-scale randomized epidemiological study will be launched. This, according to the minister, should show the exact situation. At the same time, he assured that Lithuania has expressed its desire to buy a coronavirus vaccine as soon as it is approved and available.

“Lithuania has officially expressed its position and desire to participate in the common preliminary process that will take place in the EU. (…) As a country, we have expressed the desire to receive these vaccines when they are produced.” … No matter how much At any cost, any country will have an interest in making it available, so that the state does not have to simply “close” and return to quarantine, “Veryga added.
