On Sunday the death of a child living in Rukla PPC in a medical institution was announced.
The migrant family (father and son) arrived at Rukla PPC on August 6. They were immediately taken from the border and housed in the center because the minor was paralyzed, had epilepsy and other diseases.
According to a young father born in 1992, his son became disabled after sustaining a head injury a year ago in his home country.
The Rukla PPC family constantly received medical assistance, necessary medications, social workers and a psychologist. The family lived in a stationary building, had a separate room with a toilet and shower.

“We are all shocked by this loss. We really sympathize with the father over the loss of the child in Lithuania,” said Beatričė Bernotienė, director of Rukla PPC, at a press conference on Sunday.

The boy, who died Sunday, was said to be paralyzed and seriously ill. Currently, around 20 more migrants (children, adults) have serious health problems: they suffer from cancer diseases, epilepsy, depression, autism, cerebral palsy and mobility problems.
According to representatives of the PPC, sick migrants receive the necessary treatment, social services and medicines. A doctor is on call at the center every day and a mobile medical team also arrives.
The owner of Rukla PPC confirmed that another child who does not walk, paralyzed is currently being referred to doctors, his mother, who has an oncological disease, also seeks to provide him with all the necessary assistance.
