(…) We have a negative attitude towards mass vaccination, we believe that it should be aimed at people who need the vaccine, ”said R. Jankūnas.
The information disseminated by the representatives of this institute is shared on Facebook by the representative of the Labor Party Mindaugas Puidokas, the representatives of the institute were also invited to the meeting by the opposition faction of the Lithuanian Union of Greens and Peasants (LVŽS).
The head of the institute informed during the meeting of the Democratic group that they are also invited to an interview with the Ministry of Health. It should take place on October 1.

Mindaugas Stankūnas, a professor at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU) and a public health specialist, said he did not want to interfere in politics and comment on politicians’ decisions to participate in discussions with members of the institute, but regretted that inaccurate information was sometimes disseminated.
“I am trying to distance myself from politics. Whether they are invited is their decision, but I am more concerned that sometimes not completely accurate information is disseminated and excessive doubts are raised even in such a tense situation,” said M. Stankūnas.
Arvydas Ambrozaitis, a professor and infectologist at the Vilnius University School of Medicine, was more strict. In his opinion, the dissemination of information that casts doubt on vaccines in the current situation is an anti-state activity.
“It just came to our attention then. There is a situation right now where we must all be united, focused on fighting a common enemy. Now, as a state of war, an emergency situation in which other opinions are no longer needed. rather it is necessary to listen to experts, doctors, scientists, believe in science and the World Health Organization (WHO), which has said that non-vaccination or avoidance of vaccination is a threat to public health.
At this time, generating doubts, encouraging people to question what is being accepted by state institutions, is to act against the state. It can be started by our hostile neighbors. This is something very dangerous, harmful and criminal, ”said A. Ambrozaitis.

According to the professor, in the current situation it is important to understand that the common enemy of all of us is invisible, it is a virus.
“We all have to fight, there is no other way than vaccination. But if there is any doubt, if it is said that “it is an experimental vaccine, not tested”, it is said by people who are not experts in the field, who have heard all kinds of rumors, conspiracy theories, sensory films emanating from Russia, and all kinds of liars. This is very dangerous for our state, national security, ”said A. Ambrozaitis.
According to the doctor, thanks to the spread of such theories, there is a category of people who do not get vaccinated, and thanks to them now there is such a large increase in morbidity.
“There are already 900 patients in the hospitals, the capacity is decreasing, they will soon stop providing services for people with other diseases, which is malicious anti-state activity,” explained A. Ambrozaitis.

In order not to get lost in the information field, the professor at the VU Faculty of Medicine advised people to be careful who they get the information from.
“We have to believe in the experts, specialists in that field. The specialists in this field are epidemiologists, virologists and infectious disease doctors, scientists who work in this field. They are not bought, influenced by anyone, they say according to their conscience. They must also be followed. Politicians must seize the opinion of experts and spread it to the public, “explained A. Ambrozaitis.
Predisposition to conspiracy theories: psychological problems
According to the professor, the propensity for various conspiracy theories is already a psychological problem.
“He may have come from Soviet times to think that the state is deceiving citizens, that one language is another. The Soviet Union was a kingdom of crooked mirrors, perhaps extrapolated to our society by those people who were used to it.
And now there are opinions that everyone who receives treatment in hospitals is not being treated for the cure, but for the side effects of the vaccine. It is common sense that if vaccines cause deaths due to resuscitation of vaccines, such vaccines would be prohibited. The European Medicines Agency, which only approves vaccines that are effective and safe. If there is additional data that the vaccine is no longer safe, it is simply prohibited, ”explained A. Ambrozaitis.

The professor also noted that science has no evidence that this vaccine has long-term consequences.

According to the professor, if it is thought that in each case the need for vaccination should be evaluated separately by a family doctor, we will never vaccinate 90 percent. people.
“And family doctors will no longer have time to treat patients, they will only have to decide whether to vaccinate a person. It is not necessary to do this because there are no contraindications, everyone can be vaccinated. The vaccine should be administered as soon as possible, as the benefits of the vaccine outweigh the potential risks.
If you compare it with the disease, it is clear that the disease is dangerous, that the disease is to be feared, not the vaccine. But there are people who say: “I better get sick, but I would not give you this vaccine.” It is already a problem to think, I suggest that these people go to the hospital, go to resuscitation and see how people suffer who get sick without getting vaccinated.
