Both Mindaugas Balčiūnas and the club leaders promised to get to work with all their help. It is important to know how they live, what they breathe, because it is quite difficult and I know it, because the beginning of my work in the league was with Audra Ginelevičienė.
Then I had the “Become a Basketball Star” project. Our goal was to attract girls to basketball. I received some lessons from A. Ginelevičienė, and now I will have people with a lot of experience in the federation, who will study and work in women’s basketball. “
As in the experience project, the main objective and challenge now is to attract girls to basketball.
“I would like to say that, in general, young people do not want to play sports as much as they used to. We want to both attract and retain and offer projects and activities that are exciting.
There will be many challenges, I will definitely not do it alone, with a team. I invite famous people to help and I really have plans. I think there will be more than one good idea together with the team, ”said R. Valentienė.
Vydas Gedvilas, president of the federation, and Rimantas Grigas, new coach of the national team, also spoke about attracting girls to basketball. Speaking about the national team strategist, R. Valentienė highlighted the importance of mutual understanding between him and the players.
“I lost playing with Rimantas Grigas, but he has trained the girls of the Belarusian team, they are also my friends,” said R. Valentienė. – Of these, only the best comments about the coach. In reality, it will depend on how the coach manages to understand the player and vice versa, on how the players achieve what the coach asks for.

In the new season of the women’s basketball league, a total of 16 teams will compete: A divizione – 6, B divizione – 10.
