Mindaugas Marcinkevičius, a minority shareholder of Vilniaus Prekyba, one of the largest business groups in Lithuania, estimates that he currently has more than 10 lawsuits worth more than 300 million LTL. euros. According to him, the end of the whole story can be twofold: a total financial collapse or a civilized termination of relationships and the distribution of benefits. However, recent events suggest a trend towards the first option.

Gradually approaching the end of a year-long struggle for a lot of money and ambitions, M. Marcinkevičius gave an interview to Delfi. During the interview, the interlocutor strongly criticized the Lithuanian Company Law, which, according to him, leaves the rights of minority shareholders completely unprotected.

Meanwhile, Andrius Mikalauskas, director of Vilniaus Prekyba, comments that Marcinkevičius’s statements on the alleged violation of minority shareholders’ rights can be seen as an attempt to address in the media the issues that are already being considered in the proceedings. judicial.

Vilniaus Prekyba also responded to some of Marcinkevičius’s statements about the privatization processes, the search for loopholes in the laws, Maxima’s influence on the market, and Nerijus Numuma’s desire to concentrate management.

“Previously, the Lithuanian courts have already declared that certain statements made by M. Marcinkevičius in public do not correspond to reality and M. Marcinkevičius was forced to refute the respective statements,” said A. Mikalauskas in a comment to Delfi.

– In what year did you join Nerijus Numavičius and Ignas Staškevičius?

– I must clarify that I know the story when the beginning was of Žilvinas Marcinkevičius and Nerijus Numavičius. The first were N. Numavičius, Ž. Marcinkevičius – studied at the same Faculty of Medicine – then Julius and Vladas Numavičiai, me. From 1991 to 1992, when we still had no stores, the privatization business started, there were some benefits that we could have shared if we wanted to.

Then four participants: Gintaras Marcinkevičius, Ignas Staškevičius, Renatas Vaitkevičius and Mindaugas Bagdonavičius joined later, as in 1994, when they received after every 2 percent.

When I joined, it was in the early 1990s. Nerius is from a large family, just like me. There are six children in a family, five of us. All that knowledge began during his studies. My brothers Gintaras and Žilvinas, Nerijus, Ignas were studying medicine at the university, I was studying at VGTU, then it was called differently, and we were all those hungry students trying to make our way in life. I was far from graduating from university, I left VGTU in the third year, I finished again in 10-12 years to finish university.

– What profession?

– Economy and construction management. These are times of students, hungry students, three brothers from one family, three brothers from another. It is true that the brothers Vlad and Julius de Nerijus did not study, but the reason for vomiting and doing something, the motivation was similar: hunger. At the beginning of the nineties, we began to think, to communicate, that it was time to hang something, especially knowing that Lithuania was fundamentally changing, the Soviet era was over, the opportunities to do something were opened, an opportunity that could not be missed. . . Later we were joined by Renatas Vaitkevičius and Mindaugas Bagdonavičius. Ignas Staškevičius, as far as I know, had some business with Nerijus a little earlier than in 1991.

Before I joined, I had another small furniture-making business in my native Šakiai. I took all the funds from that entrepreneur and I came with that capital, I joined the offer of Žilvinas and Nerijus.

– Are you leaning towards the business from the beginning?

– What I did not do in my childhood: both raise rabbits and raise flowers. There were still all kinds of businesses, I really like it.

– When you joined, what happened next?
