There will be more work in one of the three bars.

Haroldas Arėška, co-owner of the Vilnius pubs “Špunka” Delphi He said he wasn’t going specifically for tonight because he had students all the time.

“It just came to our notice then. Sure, the students will come, but they came back over the weekend, it’s walking everywhere. They will walk after this weekend until resources are exhausted,” he says.

There are three Špunka bars in the capital: on Užupis, Savičiaus and Etmonų streets. The latter is more popular with young people, so there may be a higher influx of customers on Wednesday night, as predicted.

“Young people from 30 years old gather more in Užupis. There may be a greater influx of stamens in Špunka today. Sometimes those who are not old enough (20 years – Delphi) also try to go down, and we check them a lot. There will probably be more work here today. Stronger people visit the bar on Savičiaus street, “says H. Arėška.

Less resentment from young people

Passports of Opportunity (GP) have been used in every pub in Špunka for some time. As they say, there are still dissatisfied people who do not have this document, but less among young people.

“Most of our clients are conscious and vaccinated. In business terms, it is more beneficial to work with passports. It makes a big difference if there can be several people inside or any number. Despite the ideological aspects, it is increasingly worth working with a passport of opportunities.

We get less outrage from young people than from older people. There are angry visitors, but the situation is as it is. If you already want to walk around the city in bars, you have to be vaccinated ”, emphasizes the owner of the bar.

Hope more traffic is expected over the weekend

The capital’s entertainment spots “Materialiste”, “Bardakas”, “Sanatorija” and “Conductors” will also receive more visitors today, but according to Matas Puodžiūnas, co-owner of the bars, there will not be a significant influx. Expect more traffic this weekend.

“It just came to our notice then. Based on last year’s practice, there is not that much of an influx, everyone is waiting for the first weekend of September. We are ready to review all the tools as there will be more traffic.

Our audience may not be celebrating much this day, most are older, so there will be no shortage, “he says.

According to him, the bar “Bardakas” is the most popular among young people. A DJ will also play here on Wednesday night. According to the interlocutor, customers have also reserved tables for dinner in their other bars, but they do not notice that the number of reservations has increased significantly.

More affected by bad weather than GP

Visiting GPs are being inspected at these bars in the capital for the second week in a row. As the interlocutor assures, only a small proportion do not have them. According to him, more bars have suffered from bad weather in August than from the introduction of the GP.

“The Vilnius center is positive about GP. We always count the days at the end. That’s roughly a small percentage, up to 10 percent. – The people of all those who want to enter do not have a family doctor or have not heard of him, they turn around and leave. At first, we were afraid that there would be a large part, but not many people would really fight, ”says the businessman.

“It just came to our attention then. It can be a good vacation, but if it’s cloudy and raining, people skip the entertainment venues, especially in the middle of the week,” adds M. Puodžiūnas.

GP checks receive requests through Facebook

Still, as he says, many visitors check on Facebook before visiting entertainment venues whether these bars accept passport-less visitors or need to show up at the entrance. M. Puodžiūnas also received such requests from young people on Wednesday.

“It just came to our attention then. Probably looking for places to go without a GP. However, I don’t know if there are such bars in the center of Vilnius. The vast majority only accept GPs, otherwise theoretically it is impossible to work because the restrictions are very important, two people inside, long distances. There is no other option than to work with a family doctor “, he assures.

There are problems with foreign passports.

However, there are often problems with verifying the passports of foreign visitors, as their documents are different and it is not clear whether they can be equated with GPs.

“The authorities should clarify whether there can be negative test documents from the UK, US. We also have questions about whether they meet GP’s criteria.

Foreigners have a vaccination passport and an identity document that proves that it is their vaccination passport, but it is made of paper. At first we were confused, we did not let some in because we did not have an exact answer as to whether they could take out the GP when they flew into the country. I also heard from other bars that there were such problems the first weekend when we started working with a GP. Several foreigners were not admitted to the insurance, although they had documents. Later, we found out with NVSC that the European Green Passport is also valid, ”says the head of the bars in the capital.
