Lithuania has a second basket before the World Cup qualifiers

The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) has announced a lottery basketball selection for the 2023 World Championship to be held in the Philippines, Indonesia and Japan.

Before the draw, the Lithuanian team was in the second basket in terms of capacity, along with the teams of Italy, Greece and Germany.

A total of 32 European teams were divided into 8 baskets by 4 teams according to their capacity. The European Championship has 12 places in the next championship.

All teams participating in the selection will be divided into eight groups of four teams each. The three strongest teams in each group will advance to the second round after three windows. There will be four new teams of six teams each, but the points scored in the first round will still count. The top three teams in each group will win a ticket to the World Cup.

It is already clear that the Lithuanian national team will include teams from the third, sixth and seventh basket.

1 basket: Spain, Slovenia, France, Serbia

Basket 3: Czech Republic, Poland, Russia, Turkey

Basket 4: Croatia, Montenegro, Latvia, Ukraine
