According to the Lithuanian Post data, compared to July last year, they decreased 5-6 times. And those who still ordered the products after July 1, complain about the work of the Lithuanian Post and improper taxes.
“I would like to have as little business as possible with Lietuvos paštas, because it is really absurd. If you buy a product for one euro. As I have now bought such an advantage for a file and I imagine asking to pay an additional 4 euros, it is something incredible, ”says Irutė, who ordered the product from China.
As a result, some people who order small products from third countries for a few euros and hear how much they will have to pay for them no longer collect the packages and ask the post office to return them.
“I didn’t pay them, just in principle, because it’s silly, when you pay a few hundred percent more for the declaration, for those taxes than the goods themselves cost, then I just decided not to pick up that shipment. Let the Lithuanian Post send that product to China for its money, ”says Tomas, who ordered the product from China.
The Lithuanian Post Logistics Center has about 10 percent of such items that people do not collect due to taxes and want to return. Tomas has already paid the value added tax when buying from a Chinese electronic store, but Lietuvos Paštas does not see the payment without receiving a special code from the seller and therefore asks people to pay a second time.

And Lietuvos Paštas recalls that people would inform them if they had already paid VAT when buying from electronic stores in third countries. It also encourages you to write your address and other contact details correctly, otherwise shipments may get stuck and delayed.
