Lost between the laws
The commercial representatives who contacted Delfi assured that the new procedure was not clear to them. According to them, it is unclear which employees working in supermarkets need to wear medical masks and they said most of the questions arise because there are vaccinated and unvaccinated people on the team.
Delfi contacted the Chief of the Health Promotion Division of the Department of Public Health of the Ministry of Health. The specialist Galina Zagrebneviene explained that the use of masks does not depend on whether employees are vaccinated, but on which clients they choose to serve.
As has been said, if it is intended to serve clients with or without an opportunity passport, all employees must wear masks, but if only those who have an opportunity passport, only the use of masks is recommended.
“If a shopping center or store provides services not only to people with passports, masks are mandatory for contact service providers, economic operators, entities that organize economic activities or administrations.
If the store / supermarket provides services only to people with passports, the masks are recommended for contact service providers, economic operators, organizing entities of economic activities or administrations ”, he said.
„In Norfa, everyone will need masks
Darius Ryliškis, representative of the Norfa shopping center, also spoke about wearing masks.
He assured that although as of September 13, visitors will only be accepted with the possibility of passports greater than 1,500 square meters. meter. In the stores, the masks are still recommended, Norfa introduces its own rules here: the masks will be mandatory in all the stores of this network before and after September 13.
“The order will not change, everyone will have to wear masks,” he said, explaining that following the government’s recommendations that those without a mask can have a passport would make inspection difficult.
“So you have to build a security guard at the gate and passports can be checked at the gate.” This creates all kinds of difficulties, ”he said. According to D. Ryliškis, the divisions between workplaces and the requirement to respect distances also remain in stores.
Warns of non-compliance
Director of the Lithuanian Business Companies Association (LPĮA) Rūta Vainienė soc. Facebook also noted that the masks remain mandatory in commerce until September 13.
“The exemption can be applied only at those points of sale where visitors only receive passports of opportunity. There are no such means, at least among IAEA members.
I notice a lot of misinformation that only masks are recommended for passport holders. Don’t be fooled! I want to draw everyone’s attention to the fact that masks are still mandatory at all outlets serving all customers (i.e. they operate without the passport option). The memoirs of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania speak of the requirements for companies and do not mean that everyone with a passport of opportunity can be anywhere without a mask. It can be without a mask only when the business only serves people with passports of opportunity.
For this reason, I urge you to use the masks correctly and understand the sales staff, who ask you to comply with the requirements set by the Government and to guarantee a safe purchase for everyone, ”he warned.
The editorial recalls that the companies have been in business since August 16. You can choose to serve all or just passport customers without waiting until September 13, when this requirement becomes mandatory. By choosing to serve only those with passports, companies can work with greater freedom.
