According to Lukas Vigelis, in the family home on Mažosios Lietuvos street there were four of them, the parents and their two adult children, Lukas and Samanta.
At the time of the explosion, which was followed by a fire, the 44- and 45-year-old spouses were at home. Both people were pulled out from under the rubble and an ambulance was taken to the hospital.
“The mother’s life is not in danger, her father’s condition is critical. The house completely collapsed, it seemed as if a bomb had fallen on the house, all that remained were the ruins. For the moment, the cause it’s called an accident, “said L. Vigelis.
On Wednesday, L. Vigelis’s sister, Samanta, shared a request for help on the social network.
“No one is safe from such disasters. On the early morning of Sunday, August 8 this year, the residents of Šiauliai were surprised by the loud explosion of a residential house. Currently, the parents of two young children, Mindaugas Vigelis and Ilona Vigelienė, they fight for life in resuscitation.
Critical condition. The highest degree of bodily burns suffered by both adults has been identified. Internal organs are also damaged. Children not only feel insecure about their parents’ health and life every day, but they are also left homeless, without things, clothes, loved homes, and all the well-being created together.
Two cubs, which are an integral part of the family, were also affected. They also suffer burns and injuries, so treatment is needed for them as well. We sincerely ask everyone to contribute and support the family affected by the disaster. Either by sharing this record on social media or by spreading moral support, but also financial support would certainly be a great driving force for a more beautiful tomorrow, ”wrote S. Vigelytė.
The mayor of Šiauliai, Arūnas Visockas, addressed the public and invited the family to help.
According to L. Vigelis, the most important thing for the family now is financial support. They will also be needed for treatment and plastic surgery. “Not to mention, there was nowhere left to live,” said L. Vigelis. Both he and his sister temporarily settled into their second half.
The family lived in Šiauliai in a newly built house for about four years. According to L. Vigelis, this house and its construction was a project of his father’s life.
The family thanks everyone who has already responded to their request for help. The brother and sister say that every minute is important to them now: the critical health of the father can change the situation at any moment.
