In the “Tango Piazzolla” project produced by the “Midsummer Vilnius” festival, one of the most outstanding soloists of Lithuanian opera – Ieva Prudnikovaitė – dedicated a special program to the most famous tango composer of all time, Ástor Piazzolla, who would have celebrated its centenary this year.

Named an innovator of traditional tango, Ástor Piazzolla combined elements of classical music and jazz with tango to create the so-called “new tango”, which made the dance of the 20th century transcend the genre and conquer great stages.
Along with the interpreter Ieva Prudnikovaitė, tango musicians and dancers appeared on stage, choreographed by the 2019 champions in London and the finalists of the Tango World Championship in Buenos Aires, tango virtuosos – Brigita and Carlos Rodríguez.
