As Rasa Jakilaitienė, the spokeswoman for Prime Minister I. Šimonytė, informed the portal a little earlier, the prime minister will pass the prime minister on July 6 along with relatives who have returned from abroad.
Health Minister A. Dulkys also refused to participate, because he assured that he had other plans, promises to participate in another event.
When Delfi contacted the chairman of the Human Rights Committee, TV Raskevičius, he told him that he had been invited to the western part, although he laughed that “I don’t know what merits”.
Laurynas Kasčiūnas, chairman of the Defense and National Security Committee, stated that he and his wife had also been invited there, although they could not participate due to the business trip to Austria.
Presidency Delphi Last week she explained to whom the admission invitations were sent this time.
President G. Nausėda continues the tradition that has been interrupted for some time on the occasion of State Day to hold receptions at the Presidency. This ancient tradition is designed to unite and honor people who deserve status from different spheres of state life and different regions of Lithuania. This year, State Day coincides with the end of the quarantine, so another additional element of the celebration emerges in relation to the end of the difficult phase of the pandemic.
On the occasion of the State Day, the President invites those who deserve Lithuanian statehood and the strengthening of the country’s reputation to those who deserve culture, art, science, academia, companies, government and state institutions, diplomatic corps, media , religious communities, government organizations, p. ex. uniting people with disabilities, representatives of the education and training communities. According to tradition, all members of the Seimas are invited to the most important part of the State Day celebrations: the flag-raising ceremony. This year the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, and the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, will also participate, ”said Ridas Jasiulionis, spokesperson for the Presidency.
After last year’s revived admission etiquette expert Armin Lydeka said that refusing to attend such an event could offend the person who organized it.
“One person on that guest protocol list says, well no, I will not participate. Of course, this is a kind of saying that it is not fun for me to be in this society,” commented A. Lydeka.
