In addition to the current free rapid antigen tests for the passport, the Ministry of Health has made it possible to perform PCR tests for free when traveling abroad and to obtain a digital COVID certificate from the European Union (EU) for the results of the proof. The withdrawal of the COVID certificate as a result of a rapid antigen test will allow the necessary technical changes to be made.
According to the updated procedure, all citizens of the country, regardless of the place of residence or declared country, as well as others, can be tested for the COVID-19 disease in the country and for trips abroad:
right to personal health care services paid from the budget of the Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund or the state budget;
Citizens of the EU Member States or the Member States of the European Free Trade Association and their relatives who have come to live in Lithuania for more than 3 months in half a year and have acquired the right to reside in Lithuania;
foreign citizens and stateless persons who have obtained a residence permit in Lithuania;
people who have been issued a national visa;
Accredited persons and residents of Lithuania.
Valid documents for people returning or arriving in Lithuania:
Document confirming that the person has performed a rapid antigen test or a PCR test and received a negative response. The document is valid for 72 hours. upon receiving a negative PCR test result or 48 hours. upon receipt of a negative rapid antigen test (calculated from time of sampling).
For post-mortem patients: a document confirming that the person has been re-infected with COVID-19, when the diagnosis was confirmed based on a positive result of the PCR test, and no more than 180 days have passed from the positive test result before returning. or get to Lithuania.
