On the night of June 24-25, the crew of the Kaunas city ambulance station was called to the 29-year-old mother.
“We received an invitation from the 29-year-old mother and we hoped to take her to the medical institution, where this happy event would take place.
When we entered the apartment, we found the mother in such a state that it was no longer possible to transport her. Otherwise, the child would have been born in a car, we chose a better solution: to give birth at home ”, recalls Gitana Bartkuvienė, specialist in emergency medical care at the Kaunas ambulance station.
The doctor was glad that the delivery was successful, without complications. For her, this was the first childbirth she gave him since the beginning. At that moment, the nurses assisted the paramedic driver.
G. Bartkuvienė said that the labor was very short: “We arrived at 3 in the afternoon. 5 min. And 3 h. 15 minutes. the girl had already been born ”.
A healthy girl was born into the world who weighed about 3 kg. After the baby was born, another ambulance brigade from the city of Kaunas joined, which then took the girl and her mother to the Kaunas clinics.
Ambulances are called to the maternity hospital more frequently. They are usually expected to get them to medical facilities on time, but this has happened differently.
“It is important that we manage to help the girl to come into the world and her mother on the spot, and everything ended without many complications,” said the doctor.
