Not only residents of the surrounding districts, but also guests from all over Lithuania and even Latvia travel to the Biržai district to admire a truly extraordinary spectacle in the summer, according to a press release. Having had the opportunity to visit the farm last year, I know: the weather here is truly magical. The scented fields, covered with a violet veil, become a true outlet for peace, give lightness to thoughts and allow relaxation from any worries.
“People like to explore nature, get up close to an invisible plant and, of course, immortalize. We even receive visits from newlyweds, ”says Giedrė Rybalko, the farm’s hostess. The romantic setting of Provence is also loved by various creators who want to express their ideas surrounded by lavender.
It is true that the farm does not close for private photo shoots. “Yes, people organize professional photo shoots at Lavender Farm. During the day their price is 30 Eur, in the afternoon or after hours – 50 Eur. However, we do not close the farm during them; most of the time , the photographers agree amicably with the visitors to the farm at that time. We want everyone to be able to admire this beauty, “explains G. Rybalko.

Come relax and have fun
Many come not only to admire, but also driven by curiosity. To satisfy this, the family that takes care of the farm created an inclusive educational program “Lavanda. From seed to product “.
“Individuals, families, companies of friends and larger groups, such as work teams, enroll in the classes. “Single women’s businesses are also very fond of classes,” says the farm manager. If only the number of participants allows, even those who came to the farm without prior registration in the educational program will try to join the host of the existing group. Participation costs 5 euros per person, and people are invited to classes until the end of the summer.
“People are very interested; after all, it is an extraordinary plant that does not look Lithuanian. We go and look closely at lavender, we smell it. Many imagine the smell of lavender as what we feel in perfumed, synthetic body products or for the home, so I’m really surprised that the lavender smell is actually really different, ”says G. Rybalko about the participants’ impressions.
After exploring the lavender fields and the collection of agricultural plants, participants are invited into a space for an activity that traces the lavender path from seed to product. “People are very interested, so this year we have prepared and established a new, more spacious room for this educational program,” said the farm manager.

Here the family that looks after the farm introduces people to the uses of lavender, the health benefits, wellness and beauty. “Lavender has many advantages, it can be applied perfectly at home and the good feeling that comes from walking through the lavender fields is carried home,” says Rybalko, smiling at the renovated Provencal-style shop with outside terrace.
Lavender tea served on the new outdoor terrace
The pile is a true center of gravity. Its shelves have lavender products created by the farm owners themselves: candles, soaps, scented bags, hydrolats and other natural products. People come here to chat with the farmers, see and buy aromatic products, and order a cup of coffee or tea.
“To make it even more convenient for visitors, we have installed a new outdoor terrace at the store entrances. After a walk in the fields, we will invite people to sit here and relax, enjoy a cup of lavender or nursery tea, ”says G. Rybalko.

After a day’s work, rest here, say the hostesses themselves. “We dedicate all our time, attention and ideas to the maintenance and development of the economy. We want visitors to be good and interesting here. We don’t use it in winter either: we generate new ideas, fill product stocks. The work takes place throughout the year, but all efforts pay off with this purple beauty and warm feedback from the people, ”says the host.
