Rescuers warn parents to watch their children by the water.

Aleksandras Siakki, Deputy Director of Klaipėda Beaches, told Delfi rytas that there were many tourists on the beach over the weekend.

“People from all over Lithuania not only came to Palanga, but also to Klaipeda, not everyone behaved safely in the water and on the beaches,” said A. Siakki.

According to the interlocutor, the main problem was that many people got burned, they were not even ready to go to the beaches.

“I needed cream, hats and umbrellas, it was about 30 degrees. It was good to see on the beaches what color the skin had turned in the afternoon. Many people sought help with burns. One even had to help walk to the car because my foot was badly sunburned, ”said A. Siakki.

The deputy director of Klaipėda Beaches said that many people were also under pressure. There were people who brought sweet drinks to the beach, there were snacks.

“I advise everyone when the hot weather brings water to the beaches, not sweet drinks, not fruits, because there are a lot of wasps, bees, there may be problems,” Siakki said.

The interlocutor urged people to assess their health and, in hot weather, to go to the beach either late at night or in the morning when the sun is not so scorching.

He remembered the basic rules of the beaches

The deputy director of Klaipedos Beaches said that this summer they had not yet rescued the drowned due to preventive work.

“But I want to draw the attention of vacationers: when you get to the beach, look at the lifeguard post, what flag is flying. If the top flag is yellow and red, rescuers are on guard. Then a second yellow or red flag hangs at the bottom.

Red means that bathing is prohibited and yellow means that bathing is possible but dangerous. Swimming in the sea is always dangerous, “said A. Siakki.

There are also rude parents

He also recalled that information on how to behave on the beaches, on the beaches of Klaipeda is posted in the changing rooms and in the stands when you get to the beach.

“We want to point out that there are signs near the water where there are wells. People ignore those signs. And most of the time, drownings happen next to the “well” of those signs.

Parents come with their children, they lie down to sunbathe near the well, sometimes they even help with the towels on the sign, and the children swim unsupervised near the well, so that anything can happen, ”said A. Siakki .

He pointed out that parents who come to the beach with young children have to take care of them. If the child is going to swim, the parents should be close.

“It is common for parents to relax, sunbathe and children bathe. There has been more than one case where he ran to rescuers, he says: “the boy left, he just went swimming, we turned around somewhere”, they were all in shock. That child appears.

But there are also cases in which rescuers benevolently warn parents about taking care of children, and parents respond badly that “this is not your business”, “where do the rules say that parents should take care of their children? ? ” There are even cases where parents don’t care about their children’s lives, “said A. Siakki.

It is not safe to be in the sun for long in this hot

Emergency doctor Andrius Černauskas warned that it is not safe to be in the sun for long in such weather.

“During so much heat, people need to be vigilant, think about themselves. Even healthy people are negatively affected by that heat, and if a person is older or has comorbidities, they should really think about how to behave these days, plan work ”, Said A. Černauskas.

The doctor recalled that the most dangerous hours are from 11 am to 15-16 hours.

“You should not be in the sun during those hours. It is recommended to go to the beaches in the morning or at night,” said A. Černauskas.

No to differences in temperature and health

According to the doctor, not all people have health differences in temperature that they experience during hot jumps into cold water.

“Of course, there is no rule, many people do it and nothing happens to them, but we are facing those people who were unlucky, who did not benefit from that difference in temperature,” said A. Černauskas.

The emergency doctor himself works in Vilnius. He said he had not noticed a large increase in the number of patients this weekend.

“It gave me the impression that many Vilnius residents went to the (…) sea. Saturday was quiet, there were more patients on Sunday, the biggest flow was yesterday. It was an extraordinary day, “said A. Černauskas.

The doctor was satisfied with the consciousness of the people and that there were not many people directly affected by the heat.

“But we are facing indirect victims of the heat: chronic diseases are getting worse, people are injuring themselves a little more because the weather is good, they bathe more, they move more.”

People with cardiovascular and kidney disease suffer the most, as chronic diseases get worse and the body becomes more difficult to regulate blood pressure. Many symptoms start with high blood pressure: weakness, dizziness, nausea, heart, headaches, “said A. Černauskas.

According to the doctor, and in such a climate, it is possible to rest safely.

“Maximum heat should be avoided, at that time spending time indoors, in the shade, it is possible to use public buildings where the premises have air conditioning. In the middle of the day, hiding, and in the morning and at night, dosing the amount of sun and heat, it is possible to spend a good vacation “, said A. Černauskas.
